What is the purpose of the CLG?

Following the success of our October 2021 workshops, a recruitment campaign was launched in Spring 2022 to form a CLG to inform the evolution of the vision for a new settlement.

The first CLG meeting was held in May 2022, and included fifteen representatives from the parishes of Stoney Stanton, Sharnford, Elmesthorpe, Sapcote, Burbage, Croft, and Aston Flamville.

The CLG is intended to advise the project team on a number of matters including, but not restricted to:

  • Current and future needs and challenges of the existing community.
  • The development of future engagement strategies for the site, to ensure the community is represented at each stage.
  • The emerging masterplan and vision for the site, including design principles.
  • An identity for the new settlement.

The group will meet approximately every two months to keep up to date with the evolving vision, discuss ideas and share information more widely.

Following the first Community Liaison Group (CLG) meeting on 31 May 2022, a survey was distributed to all CLG members to gain sign off the discussion and inform future CLG meetings. A summary of survey responses can be found in the latest news section, along with a copy of the Terms of Reference.

Following nominations by their fellow CLG members, Sharon Scott (Sapcote) accepted the position of CLG Chair, and Becky Roper (Elmesthorpe) accepted the position of Vice Chair. The responsibilities of these roles can be reviewed in the Terms of Reference.
