A consortium of Barwood Land, Parker Strategic Land and Leicestershire County Council (LCC) is in the process of promoting land to the west of Stoney Stanton as a potential new settlement.
A new settlement, would help complement, protect and support life in the surrounding villages with new services, while accommodating the new housing required for Leicestershire.
The consortium is currently in the process of evolving the vision for the new settlement which will culminate in Blaby District Council deciding, through its Local Plan process, whether the site should be allocated for development.
We want to engage with residents, businesses, parishes and community groups to better understand how we can create a new place which benefits both new and existing residents. To register your interest, click here.
This website will evolve with the vision to provide details as the project progresses and advertise future opportunities for engagement. You can keep up to date with the latest project news here.
We are building on the successful workshops we held in October 2021, by forming a Community Liaison Group to help us evolve the vision in partnership with people who already live and work in the area.
The group will meet approximately every two months to keep up to date with the vision-making process, discuss ideas, shape progress and share information more widely.
We are looking for a diverse group of people, representing the widest possible cross section of the community. These will be people who are passionate about their local area and can help us understand how we can create a new place and community fit for today’s and future generations.
You can find out more about the group and register your interest by filling out the form here.
